working with the given totebag, the size and material stays the same, reject using pattern, its all intuition, fold it in another way, it becomes a triangle, it adds depth to the bottom. unstitch one of the long side, stitch the original opening together its also sturdier since they double the material in order to conceal the heads and tails of the straps, the original straps are now longer, long enough for each arm to go through and wear it as a backpack. the unstitched long side now hemed with a shoelace to create a butthole opening. ok I could actually integrate the shoelace even more but it was slightly too short and I ran out of time as it was a birthday gift for Audrey lol
Audrey donated a pile of stuff and that included the arrival tote... I’ve never worked with ripstop before but I gave it a try! So I turned a tote bag into a backpack. The length of the backpack, how it hangs off your shoulders varies based on your body shape and size. The shoelace helps to keep the straps in place so secure it under your boobs then you are good to go.
